WOW - when I heard about this service for people I thought, wow I'd love to make space my final frontier, not sure how my part time pets would feel about a trip into outer space - I reckon a couple of them would be right up for it!

Sleeping Bags For Dogs!

What a great idea for those out-doorsey types of dogs who go into the wilderness with their owners.

Most of my part time pets are definitely only up to sleeping by the heater, on the end of the bed or under the covers, but I thought this was excellent, even if they never go hiking.

Barker Bags are named after little "Barker" who gave his owner the idea for the bed while they were having an adventure. Now Barker is almost famous!

It's Like Air BnB For Dawgs!

I was so ahead of the curve of this one! Before I started to do housesitting I had several of my part time pets over to stay at my place while their owners were away. It really worked a treat and meant I had a dog to play with for a few days or weeks. It meant the dog wasn't at some horrible kennel feeling all neglected and lost.

I believe that housesitting gives the pet the very best experience though because they don't have their routine messed with and they don't have to adjust to a new location - just a new person and lets face it, they get that person trained pretty darn fast :-)

But if you are uncomfortable having someone in your own home, then DogVacay is an awesome second best option.

The video is very funny ..... a further lesson in never working with animals or kids on TV! If it had been me I would have had a couple of doggie treats in my pocket in case of such behaviour - Greenies solve so many problems :-)

There's Still More For Me

I’ve believed for some time that there was more for me. Now I am hell bent on finding all there is within and walking that path in courageous trust.

This journey began over ten years ago. Luckily it began from the safety of a drafty but solid little house in the country with the roses and lavender steadily flowering each summer for ten years.

But all changed when I attended some high end training in New York. At the end of that event, I knew my life as I knew it was over.

There was still more for me.

When I walked back through the gate, jetlagged from the 24 hour direct flight back to Australia, exhilarated on one hand but completely destroyed inside at the prospect of what I was walking back into.

My Cute House in the idyllic town tourists spend thousands of dollars to visit each weekend had to go. In fact, by the time I reached the front door, I pretty much knew everything I owned needed to go.

It was time to courageously step from one dream, up into the next and continue to walk my truth on a yet signposted path.

Back in 2001 I did a similar leap and that first phase of the dream took its toll on my mind, body and soul. I left my corporate job as a forensic business analyst for very large corporations to set up a small business.

Years of big business training didn’t set me up for the reality of running a small business. Without the generous resources of the big end of town, pretty soon everything went pear shaped. There I was in a strange town, no contacts, no furniture and nothing to hide behind. I was also under-prepared to step up and sell myself as a coach and personal mentor.

I froze emotionally, spiritually and physically during the first few years of the new experience.

During the tough times of my conversion from big business to small business I had re-mortgaged my house.

To all intents and purposes, as others looked in they saw me "living the dreams". But owning an over stretched destination was doing nothing for my journey. It became a drain on every part of my existence.

The real estate market was at its worst point and the house needed severe restoration. I most certainly didn’t have the time, money or resources to fix it up. I was in the classic catch 22. Everyone said I’d never sell it in the current market.

My response was that I would trust something would happen to make everything right. Without it ever going on the market, I sold the house for what was owing on it, and whats more everything was done and dusted in three months.

To stand and watch my two dearest friends grab anything they could get their hands on, drag it out onto the lawn and then sell the lot off for a dollar or fifty cents, was pretty heart breaking. I was totally numb inside, but I knew it had to be done for the next phase of my dream to be given the space to manifest.

Now I find myself on a similar journey, this time with no structure at all, walking in courageous trust, house sitting around the world, proving to myself more than anyone else that I only need a laptop and a wifi connection to work.
